our vision
Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) prepares every student to know and understand the world in which they live and evaluate all ideas in the light of Scripture so that they can participate in fulfilling the cultural mandate through:
1. multiplication by communicating the gospel to others through Godly character and the
expression and defense of Biblical ideas, and
2. dominion through problem solving, creation, and invention.

our MISSION
Pinewood Christian Academy partners with the Christian family to educate covenant children to be world-changers through a rigorous, Christ-centered, Biblically-based school program with excellence in academics, athletics, fine arts, and technology.
OUR CORE VALUES
QUALITY INSTRUCTION
If we value God, we will believe all that He has said. If we believe all that He has said, we will favor explanations and models that conform to Scripture, and we will reject those that do not. Therefore, Pinewood Christian Academy uses curricula that from its foundation unites both faith and learning. We do not worry that we are being too dogmatic, or that we are “sheltering” children from the “world.” The “world” that we study was created by and belongs to God, and therefore aligning our teaching to His revelation is not a hindrance to understanding the world, but is instead a prerequisite.
CONSISTENT AND SUBSTANTIVE FEEDBACK
Pinewood Christian Academy believes that children learn from their mistakes. Therefore, we strive to implement a Biblical perspective of both academic and behavioral correction. Just as Christ has reconciled us to God, our goal is that all correction be restorative, offering grace
to students when they make mistakes and teaching them how to correct their mistakes (Proverbs 3:11-12, Hebrews 12:11). We also celebrate achievements to note and reinforce what
is good and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).
SENSITIVITY TO STUDENTS NEEDS
Pinewood Christian Academy affirms that children are not “blank slates.” They come to us with personalities and patterns of learning and behavior that define who they are as individuals. Therefore, while standards for learning, behavior, and spiritual growth are designed for the good of the whole, we recognize that every child’s needs will be different. We look to the Bible in our guidance of every student as they wrestle with academic content, executive functioning skills, personal identity, relationships with peers and adults, and conflict resolution.
*While Pinewood strives to offer a safe place for atypical learners, we may not be able to accommodate every need. We do, however, when possible, make reasonable accommodations
with the expectation of performance at the level of the required standards.
INTENTIONAL SPIRITUAL INTERACTIONS
Pinewood Christian Academy is a gospel ministry of Pinewood Church. We believe that all people are estranged from God and condemned by their sinfulness (Romans 3:23), and our salvation is wholly dependent upon the work of God's free grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). God credits His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation (Romans 10:13), thereby justifying them in His sight (2 Corinthians 5:21). Only those who are born of the Holy Spirit and trust in Jesus Christ alone as their Lord and savior become true children of God and heirs of eternal life (1 John 5:11-12). Therefore, teachers, staff, and administrators are all committed to seeing that every student understands salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone; demonstrates evidence of their salvation by good works; recognizes
and embraces all opportunities to learn, to love, and to live as a follower of Christ; accepts themselves and others as created in God’s image and uniquely gifted by God to benefit the whole body of Christ; and employs humility, empathy, and forgiveness in all of their relationships.

our covenant
We are what is called a covenant school. This means that we partner with Christian parents
to educate their covenant children, according to Deuteronomy 6:7. Over twenty-five years, Pinewood Christian Academy has developed an authentically Christian educational program, the main purpose of which is to facilitate a real relationship with Jesus Christ through a true understanding of the Gospel. To be in harmony with this purpose, families who send their children to PCA should desire both an intimate knowledge of Christ and an excellent education for their children. As such, the following statements are included in our Family Covenant:
"We recognize that children are trained spiritually first and foremost in the home. For this reason,
we affirm that at least one parent is a professing Christian, trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and regularly attending a local protestant, gospel-teaching church."
*Every family applying to Pinewood Christian Academy must secure a pastor's endorsement affirming that they are members and/or regular attenders of a local, protestant, gospel-teaching church.
"We acknowledge that while Pinewood Christian Academy does not discriminate on the basis
of race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin, they do reserve the right to admit and/or dismiss students
on the basis of academic performance, behavioral concerns, family lifestyle choices, and
cooperation with school personnel and policies."
*A copy of Pinewood Christian Academy’s complete "Statement on Biblical Marriage" is available upon request.
"We acknowledge that there may be times when we are at odds with a PCA teacher, administrator, staff member, or other parent(s) and that dealing with conflict publicly (e.g. harassment, gossip,
social media, etc.) is potentially harmful to individual relationships, the school community
in general, and the witness and reputation of PCA as a Christian school (see Galatians 5:13-15). Therefore, we commit to following the Biblical principles of peacemaking and reconciliation established by Jesus in Matthew 18:15-17 and by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 6:1-8."
OUR PROGRAM
“Education of every kind is an endeavor shaped by worldviews.” – Bryan Smith, PhD.
Christian parents are called to raise their children to have a Biblical worldview (see Deut. 6:4-9). In partnership with the family, a Christian school should be explicitly teaching a Biblical world-view throughout all content areas. Academic studies are not additional to or separate from Biblical study. The apostle Paul tells us in Romans 12 to “be transformed by the renewal of
your mind that by testing you may discern what is the will of God” and in 2 Corinthians 10
to “take every thought captive to obey Christ.” Pinewood Christian Academy trains all of our students, from PreK to high school, to question the ideas in history, science, math, and the language arts that are contrary to the truths of God. We then to lead them in replacing those problematic concepts with those that are obedient to Christ and His gospel.
